Barrett;

Here’s a bit more information, though nothing too detailed.  We were successful in matching Christopher Vo to Alexis Wilson Briggs and a few other attorneys at Pier 5 in Sf.  Since Friday there has been a good outpouring of willing attorneys to step up and give some free legal backing to Anons out there that need or want it.  We just don’t really know how to proceed.  It appears that the legal community in Ca and possibly beyond is ready to join in the struggle in some number.  The latest very big name is Dennis Roberts – of Chicago 8 and Angela Davis case fame, among others.  Tony Serra is still on vacation.  Ideas are starting to circulate about us just being around and sort of “available” for whenever we are needed, but that would take some degree of organized communication.

Do you have any thoughts about how to proceed?  If so, let’s talk about it.  I’ll be in a deposition all day tomorrow and all day Tuesday, but it may make sense to chat for a bit and figure out where we can go from here.  My cell number is 805-861-8282.  I’ll be available tonight and tomorrow until about 9:30 PST and again after 6:30 PST.  Same for Tuesday.  We’re somewhere between 10 and 15 lawyers strong already with somewhat minimal effort in grooming the ranks.  There is a great sense that we would like to stand up for those that stand up for us.  As the number seems to keep expanding, I expect there to be a full fledged movement among some of the California Bar by mid-week.  This will, no doubt, make your struggle to find legal counsel the next time it is needed for an Anon in trouble much easier.  The question that remains is this: What can we do in the interim?

Hello all,

This is a forward of an email and attachments I received from Jim Thompson just now. Indictment seems a little thin, to say the least, lol. I guess that's the way they do it in San Jose.

Jim is an excellent lawyer and a good guy who has been assigned under CJA to represent the defendant Valenzuela. Jim is on the San Jose CJA panel.

Jim and I worked together (with others) on the AETA case in this same court. He and I spoke briefly about the case yesterday.

Here's the indictment, and here's an article from MSNBC. "I think they (the FBI) are trying to send a signal that this isn't cost-free in the hopes that it will scare off some of the others. If we're lucky it will work," said James Lewis, a cyber security expert with the Center for Strategic and International Studies think tank.
