Imprisoning illegal immigrants is a very profitable business. That's why American private prison companies spend a lot of dollars in pullpeddling. American taxpayers pay five billion dollars a year on imprisoning immigrants. An imprisoned illegal immigrant costs taxpayers two hundred dollars per day. http://venitism.blogspot.com

Cecilia Malmstroem declares it is more important than ever for us to stand up against the rising tide of anti-immigrant rhetoric. Unscrupulous politicians have been quick to recognize and exploit people's fears, blaming migrants for our economic woes. Their mantra will be familiar to most of you: migrants are coming over here, taking our jobs, forcing down our wages and exploiting our welfare systems.

Malmstroem laments this statement is alarmist, misleading and wrong. It is the worst kind of politics, exploiting people's insecurities and worries about the future. The proposed solutions are simplistic, ill-thought out and simply unworkable.

Malmstroem points out we must counter such assertions with facts. And we must recognize that reliable evidence is the best defense. We must use the evidence to show that immigrants are not stealing jobs from native-born workers. We must show that well-designed migration policies are not driving down the wages of native workers. And we must make clear that migrants generally pay more in taxes than they receive from the state. They are not a structural burden on the overall public welfare system.

The bottom line is that migration stimulates and sustains economic growth. Migrants should not be unjustly blamed for society's ills. This is the message that we must promote. If worldwide immigration were to be even slightly loosened, this would help the global economy. Over time we would all become richer. The best way to raise global wealth is a free flow of people and products, to tear down all borders. http://venitism.blogspot.com

Malmstroem asserts businessmen must tell Eurocrats how they can help them to attract the best and brightest from across the globe. They must help to shape Fourth Reich policies – to tell Eurocrats what the barriers are, where Eurocrats can cut red-tape and how Eurocrats should redesign legislation.

Working together, business and governments can design flexible systems to meet constantly changing needs. This would give us a better picture of our most pressing labor shortages, and the areas where we need to grow and innovate.

And it is not just big business we need to hear from. Small and medium sized businesses must also make their voices heard. Their needs are often different, and some are short of low-skilled and medium-skilled labor. We don't just need highly skilled migrants, we also need people who can make and mend things – electricians, plumbers, welders.

Malmstroem is keen to help businesses grow through effective and flexible migration policies. But the private sector should also support and nurture the talent of the migrants they employ and help the countries whose labor they rely upon.

Fuehrer Merkollande does not understand the function of borders. A border is not
properly a barrier for the purpose of keeping foreigners out; it is properly a
boundary designating the area in which the government must protect rights.
Rights-respecting foreigners who want to cross that boundary in order to enjoy
the relative freedom and abundant opportunity in a country have a moral right to
do so. http://venitism.blogspot.com

Citizens who want to associate with foreigners in rights-respecting ways,
whether through friendship, romance, recreation, or commerce, have a moral right
to do so. And citizens who do not want to associate with foreigners have a moral
right not to associate with them. But no one, including the government, has a
moral right to prevent anyone from acting on his judgment.

Open immigration does not mean that anyone may enter the country at any location
or in any manner he chooses; it is not unchecked or unmonitored immigration.
Open immigration means that anyone is free to enter and reside in a country,
providing that he enters at a designated checkpoint and passes an objective
screening process, the purpose of which is to keep out criminals, terrorists,
enemies of the country, and people with certain kinds of contagious diseases.
Such a policy is not only politically right; it is morally right.

Hillary Clinton points out diaspora communities have enormous potential to help solve problems and create opportunities in their countries of origin, because we can move forward by giving back. By tapping into the experiences, the energy, the expertise of diaspora communities, we can reverse the brain drain that slows progress in so many countries around the world, and instead off the benefits of the brain gain.

In terms of international development and American work to reduce poverty and improve lives, this can be a game-changing effort. But that is not all. It is also a recipe for spurring greater economic growth in the United States as well. And it holds the promise of advancing strategic interests like rebuilding societies after conflicts or disasters and improving relations with key countries.

Many Greeks immigrate to Anglosphere, because Graecokleptocracy is unbearable. They leave behind the most corrupt country in Occident, and they join the most libertarian countries in Occident. Nevertheless, Graecokleptocrats continue to hoodwink and bother Greek diaspora for support, appealing to patriotism.

When Clinton travels around the world that is what she sees as our biggest problem. Clinton sees people in one sect of the same religion intimidating, harassing, and even approving of the killing of somebody in the same religion but in a different sect. Clinton sees people in different tribal backgrounds convinced that they are going to kill or be killed. What a waste of the great gift God has given us to live our lives in peace, to pursue our own dreams.

Are we so insecure about our own beliefs that we have to marginalize and even kill those who don't share them? Clinton means, ultimately we'll all find out who was right, but we're not going to find out on this earth. And frankly, Clinton thinks it's a pretty big tent up there, where people will be judged individually more than by sect or religion or faith or ethnicity. http://venitism.blogspot.com
