My net connection sucks. Maybe tomorrow for Skype.

I hear what you're saying about the book. I saw a number of small mistakes, none of which are critical to the narrative, but which could have been easily remedied. Ex: X claims he was never on Facebook. Aaron Barr would have found him in IRC. No biggie. But Emick is certainly a disputed leader of Backtrace. Indeed, Hubris contacted me to sue her for telling Olson that he was wounded in combat (he had a motorcycle accident stateside).

But overall, it's a great narrative. Remember, until about March of 11 I still didn't venture into this world. It was only after my wife got pregnant and I couldn't go to the Pub every night (about April/May) that I started heavily spectating, and didn't get involved until June. So it's nice to have a narrative of stuff all together.

I'll hope to try later or tomorrow. Dunno what's going on with wi fi. Have some interesting things to report about Greece and other stuff anyway.

I'm here on vacation, by the way. My wife is Greek. Family is here.

Yeah, I'll start leaving Skype on and you can just give me a call when
you have time, as you're probably on a busier schedule than I am at
the moment (am mostly just planning out new projects, have a
girlfriend in town, etc). What are you doing in Greece?

Olson has done a pretty good job under very difficult circumstances,
as Anonymous is one of the most difficult things to write accurately
about due to so much of it going on in IRC and all that. I told her
the same thing when she popped into one of the servers to see what the
reactions were a couple of weeks back. But I noticed a couple of
inaccuracies that could have been dealt with if she had asked me more
questions rather than relying so much on Topiary - as it is, she has
me living in Houston rather than Dallas, and doesn't seem to
understand what our case against Booz Allen Hamilton was, and refers
to me incorrectly as the "son of a wealthy real estate investor" when
in fact my dad hasn't been wealthy since 1987 when he lost all his
money and was indicted by FBI for a lot-swapping matter and has since
been perpetually broke (not a huge deal, but if I'm to be introduced
or characterized, it would probably make more sense to refer to me as
a writer or former journalist, since that figures heavily into the
role I eventually played within Anon). A lot of the problem here is
that she's getting info on my involvement with Anonymous from Topiary,
who only knows what I did relative to the brief period in which he was
working with me and a few others on some HBGary stuff. There's one
part in particular later on which makes it seem as if I was at one
worried about being assassinated "by the military" and which, if taken
as fact, is probably going to make me look like some kind of nut. But
as I said, it's difficult to summarize all of the things that happened
back then without giving off the wrong idea about aspects of those
things, especially when the subject is so multi-faceted and
poorly-documented, so I don't blame her too much. I do wish that she
would have checked some of these assertions with me, though.

Anyway, I'll be around to talk via Skype, so hopefully we'll have a
chance to catch up soon.

I'm in the middle. It's pretty good. I think you come off well. Thoughts?

We still need to chat about the Anon malaise. I'm in Greece. When I'm in wi fi range Skype is pretty good. Let me know.
