Good stuff, Barrett.

The Raytheon piece is coming along. The first, main article is currently
being drilled through the editing process. Should be out next week, I
reckon.

Yes, it came back up on Google results about 36 hours after we first noted
it to be missing; not sure how long before that it had been available. One
of our people in PM is the U.K. activist who's always taking Google to
court, and he's just now returning to U.K. after having been in D.C. for
something, so he'll be asking one of their directors about this on Monday,
he says. Otherwise, we haven't been able to discover anything solid.

Your Endgame Systems page is showing up as the second result in Google now.
Very weird. Have you got to the bottom of it yet?

Update on the stories about the videos: I've just about finished what I
think will be the main piece, and am now about to start on a shorter,
additional one which will go out around the same time... next week at some
point, I expect.

Yes, that was the first possibility that we thought of, we're aware of the
whole "negative SEO" thing, and Endgame would certain have access to the
high-end version of that. It would be pretty surprising if Google itself had
taken it down, as that sort of thing could make for considerable backlash.

That's interesting. It wouldn't surprise me if something underhand was going
on, frankly. I've heard of dodgy lobby firms using so-called "dark arts" to
vanish pages from the first couple of Google search results. See:

Oh, one more thing. As I just noted on my Twitter, our wiki page for Endgame
Systems, which was the first result on subject for six months and second
result for a few months prior, now doesn't come up on Google search at all.
It comes up on Bing, others, but not Google. First result is now the
Wikipedia page, second result is our wiki main page which lists Endgame
Systems, but the actual page won't come up even if you use more specific
search term like "Endgame Systems Project PM." We just noticed this this
morning, and are trying to determine what happened and if Google itself
might be complicit in any way.

Barrett,

Just to update you: I've been on the case with the videos & much background
research and am putting together a couple of stories this week. They'll be
published at Slate, I'm hoping within the next ten days.

Will send more details later.

Best,

Ryan
