Also--didn't want to say this on the phone--but the apparent length of Ch 7 is a little bit worrisome.  Is it conceiveable to break it into TWO chapters?  This is, of course, secondary to solving the legal / narrative issues--Julia herself can help divide it, once it's done, if need be.
