Hi Barrett,
My name is David Pedigo and I'm a journalist in Santiago, Chile. I'm currently writing an article about the recent arrest of Anonymous "members" throughout the globe (6 were arrested here in Chile) as well as the subsequent Operation "tAnGoDoWn," which shut down the Interpol website. I understand you have had some involvement with Anonymous in the past and know a great deal about it, and so I was hoping you may be able to shed some light on it for me. If you have a phone number I can use, I would love to give you a call, or we can communicate via email.
What I was essentially hoping you could enlighten me is what a typical Anonymous "member" might be like (those arrested in Chile were all students) and how long do DDoS attacks normally take to coordinate and pull off. Cybersecurity firm Imperva estimates that the total time is 25 days (18 for recruitment and communication, 5 for analysis, and 2 for the actual DDoS attack)- is that correct as far as you know? tAnGoDoWn was carried out within a day after the arrests were made public.
Please advise me of your availability to talk- I would love to pick your brain on the subject as well.
Thanks!
