Gregg, we can skip the call today.
Barrett and I reviewed the schedule, and he’s going to deliver—to you, and to me, at the same time—chapters according to the following schedule. PLEASE MARK THESE DOWN OR PRINT THIS OUT, OK?
CH # TO US:
Ch. 1 3/1.
2: 3/3.
3: 3/7.
4: 3/11.
5: 3/15.
6: 3/19.
7: 3/23.
GREGG, THIS IS IMPORTANT: you will need to read each chapter
WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECEIPT and then let Barrett know EXACTLY what issues you have with the material you’ve read. YOU HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE for alerting Barrett to any material that needs to be changed or (for legal reasons) cannot be included, and
to do so immediately. I’ll be editing the chapters for style, drama, flow, etc. but YOU need to review them for content.
Here’s an example: it’s not enough that you’ve told Barrett, previously, that Bill Gates can’t be mentioned in the book. It’s your responsibility to make sure he’s NOT mentioned, to make sure Barrett hasn’t included stuff that you’re
not allowed to talk about, or that he’s perhaps embellished in ways that don’t feel right. [Bill Gates is only an example—Barrett WON’T say anything about Bill Gates, but that’s exactly the sort of thing that you need to apply your eagle eye to.]
This is vitally important. Call if you want to discuss.
