Congress remains concerned about the cyberthreat and wants more legislation to protect the country. And the Pentagon now says cyberattacks could be met with a physical war response. Bombs for bits, so to speak. The fear is usually aimed at foreign hackers, but in this year of the protest a domestic face to this invisible enemy has emerged: Anonymous. Domestic hacktivists who use cyberattacks as a form of political protest. But at a time when US citizens have lost freedoms and rights in the name of the war on terror, could cyber-fears further blur the line between online protester and online terrorist? And what does this mean for American citizens whose rights and civil liberties are already being stripped away?
