Yes. Thanks. That is pretty much all the info I've managed to come across during the last little while too Frankly I'm too stressed to try to jump to conclusions on the whole thing and tie whatever the fuck happened in California to Anonymous to Facebook, etc, so I'm just going to let outlets with time and resources take care of it right now. Thanks for the hearing update though, I'll mark it on my calendar so we can keep our eyes and ears on it.
Thanks againAndrewOn Thu, Feb 2, 2012 at 4:16 PM, Barrett Brown <barriticus@gmail.com> wrote:
It wasn't necessarily a bomb threat, but the courthouse was closed down briefly due to some unspecified danger, after which everyone was brought back inside and the hearing resumed. Leiderman Devine is one of the law firms we brought in after the January 2010 FBI raids; Jay Leiderman is representing Commander X and worked with me to arrange pro bono lawyers for a few other Anons (the National Lawyers Guild and Stanley Cohen of NYC, who was also there today, were brought on with help from NYC activist John Penley, who worked for Cohen at the time). The hearing just ended, will reconvene on Feb 17. All defendants plead not guilty at hearing last year.
Washington Post is first outlet to report on Anonymous claims to have taken down Twitter: http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/facebook-briefly-down-for-many-users/2012/02/02/gIQAZdfqkQ_story.html
I'll be around today, possibly on Tinychat. On Thu, Feb 2, 2012 at 3:10 PM, Andrew Blake <ablake@rttvamerica.com> wrote:
Thanks as always for your speedy response.
Somehow the West Coast is not as good as reporting info on the alleged bomb threat as I would hope. The only info Im getting outside of Anon tweets is from the Leiderman Devine law firm, that was at the San Jose Federal Building.
Given that Im the only one working on this right now, that means info is limited on both sides. Id love to try to write a fucking OMG DID ANONYMOUS TAKE DOWN FACEBOOK TODAY LULZ? conspiracy article right now, but I dont have enough coffee, time or resources. Anyway, thank you for your help. If you do hear anything concrete, please holler at me. Im CCing my gmail here, cooldudemcrad@gmail.com
Care to talk any more about tomorrow? Fuck FBI Friday again? Ill be most likely sitting around my apartment drinking tonight, so if you feel like discussing anything, let me know. Ill keep my eyes on tweets and the like. Mayhaps Ill see you in tinychat or something.
As always, feel free to tell me what you can, when you can, what you want to. Always appreciated.
Best
Andrew

I don't know exactly how they did it, but I don't think it was a DDOS. Facebook was inaccessible to many users, including myself, for about 15 minutes, as The Washington Post noted today. This comes on the morning of the hearing for the Paypal DDOS defendants; incidentally, I was busy corresponding with one of the lawyers and Anon operatives that were present, so I didn't have a chance to ask around about this Facebook matter. Also keep in mind that the courthouse itself was evacuated after some sort of event - even those present still don't know what it was, but the Department of Homeland Security seemed to have been called in.

Hey dude,
Can you confirm that this takedown was a Facebook action? Want to make any statements? Been trying to dig stuff up for the last hour but not getting a lot.
Thanks,
Andrew
