I was wondering if someone from the Anonymous group would be willing to talk to me for a story for Forbes. I'd like to find out a little bit more about your plans for retaliation against companies like MasterCard and the motives behind your movement.

You may recall Forbes is the only magazine that Julian Assange chose to speak to last month - I'd be happy to speak to someone over the phone, email or Skype.

Many thanks,

Parmy

I am available to talk.  My name is Gregg Housh, I have been in a lot of the articles this week.  You can call me at 978-495-0776, call in about an hour and I will be ready (its 12:30 here now, so 1:30 my time, I am in Boston.)

Gregg

Hi Gregg - Thanks for speaking to me yesterday.

You mentioned that in observing the discussions by members of Anonymous that it wasn't clear what the next target was. Has that become more clear today?

Thanks

There are a lot of people talking about more mirroring and actually talking about taking choice pieces from the cables and spreading them as far and wide on blogs and other sites as possible.  So that could become a big operation today.

As for ddos targets, there hasnt been anything really new today.

I should change that.  Technically, a small group of the people are going after moneybookers.com.  But it isnt actually the whole group of people.  Its another one of those times when some people think its a good idea and others want to do something else.

Thanks for clarifying. How big is the "small group of people" ?

Does it look like they won't be successful in taking down moneybookers?

We have no idea how big it is.  There is no real way to tell, on irc it only seems like a few hundred people.

Ouch.

"Housh is the official mouthpiece of Anonymous"

That hurts.  There is no mouthpiece, no spokesperson.  I am not Anonymous.  I am just an observer.  I have attempted to make this very clear.

Colling me the "official" anything is going to get the FBI, and CIA to my front door.  Are you trying to get me arrested?

Thanks for changing it.

No problem at all. Of course I understand it's a sensitive issue - in my haste I didn't consider that. It's fixed now.

What's up with Amazon - did Anonymous hit that? Just saw the headlines.

So what is the deal on Amazon?

Also, I know you are an "observer" of Anonymous but if you are using the email address anonymous@whyweprotest.net sure that means you are acting as a spokesman?

Thanks,

Parmy

There are no spokesman.  You could buy a domain and setup anonymous@domain.com, that wouldnt make you a spokesman.  I respond to this email address because people use it.  If people all knew to contact me at another one, I would respond there.

But people just love trying to email anonymous@whyweprotest.net, even before we had it linked to anywhere.  So we just went with it.

Gotcha. So it's fair to say that Amazon was simply having their own problems (not hacked) but Anonymous got through to Gawker Media?

That seems to be the case.  Looking at everything going on, a lot of people do assume that the Gawker hack has come from people associated with Payback, especially since the Gnosis text file that talks about it gives a shoutout to Payback at the end.

Hi Gregg - Are there any members of Anonymous based in Britain who are relatively high up in the hierarchy who you could possibly put me in touch with? I'd be most grateful if you could.

Thanks,

Parmy

The word hierarchy is the problem there.  Each op is made up of
different people.  And they all hate the idea of a power structure.

I can ask one of the people who helped start things for one of the new
ops.  They would of course want to remain anonymous.

I think they are going to call their new op Operation BoA Constrictor.
It would seem they want to go after bank of America.  I have been
watching to see if anyone has setup a chat channel for that yet.  They
might want to talk.  I'll look.

That'd be awesome, thanks. Yes, I figured they wouldn't consider themselves a hierarchy - people who are taking initative to start new operations within the overall movement works well though. And being anonymous is fine.

Interesting that they are interested in targeting Bank of America, which is also a target of WikiLeaks.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Cheers,
