Gents,
Regarding the delivery date: lets be exceedingly realistic about this, OK? Barrett, even though youve got a ton of the research organized and so forth, you havent (to my knowledge, anyway) written any part of this in first person; and I want to be sure you leave enough time to get that (especially the sections where Gregg isnt at the white hot center of the action per se) just right.
Heretofore weve said March 1. But thats essentially just six weeks offno way is that enough time. April 1? April 15? May 1?
Gregg, remember that, in addition to collecting the materials Barrett needs and meeting with him, youre also going to have to go through the manuscript itself with a fine-tooth comb BEFORE it goes to Julia & Katieclarifying and correcting factual details that Barrett may not have gotten quite right the first time; and THEN Barrett will need time to make those changes too In other words, that time, too, has to be factored in.
So: discuss it among yourselves and let me know. Ive already harangued Julia about April 1, so Im 99% sure shell give us that date, if thats what you want. But if thats NOT enoughspeak now, OK? And then let me know a.s.a.p. so that we can get that fucking contract finalized and get you paid!!!

Subject: Gregg's travel to Dallas
Thanks for everyones time. We are excited about the book and want to help in any way that we can.
Katie will buy a plane ticket from Boston to Dallas leaving on Jan 16th returning on the 20th. Katie, please follow up directly with Gregg and cc Dan.
Correspondence (email) is extremely useful in writing a book but it doesnt provide context, texture, and an emotional frameworkonly Gregg and provide that in person. We need feelings not just facts. As discussed, we look forward to reading sample material written in the first person.
Please let me know when you feel you can deliver a polished manuscript.
Best Wishes,
Julia
