Gregg and Barrett,
Matthew Snyder at CAA will need to give an answer to Adam and Mike Kassen regarding their offer. As I said below, to me this is a no-brainer--we should turn this down; there's too much interest out there. I can ask Matthew whether it's possible to use this, amongst other producers who've shown interest, in hopes of getting a more substantial offer from somebody with whom Gregg has already had conversations. I suspect he's already whispered in those folks' ears as it is, so probably we're just going to have to wait till after the manuscript itself is finished.
Anyway: if you think we should seriously consider this offer, or ask Matthew to try to negotiate it upwards (though, as indies, there's not much 'upwards' to speak of), please let me know a.s.a.p. Otherwise I'll tell him to tell Adam and Mike thanks but no thanks.

Gregg and Barrett,
As I mentioned, we've received an option offer for ANONYMOUS-it's a low-budget indie-level offer. Gregg, I know you met with these guys, and would love to know your impressions.
From a strictly business perspective, though, Matthew Snyder at CAA and I both feel like we shouldn't take this offer-there's too much interest, and from a wide enough range of parties that we're likely to wind up with stronger offers.
There's nothing to do here in the short-term-CAA is outta business until after the new year-but I meant to share the particulars of this offer last week.
Any thoughts welcome at this stage, but again my feeling is that we should sit tight.
Best,
Dan
Hi Dan,
We have an offer from Adam and Mike Kassen, the guys who flew Gregg out. It's modest:
$2,500 for a six month option
$2,500 for a six month extension
$25,000 purchase price
Bonus of 1.25% of the budget capped at $75,000
Executive producer credit
These numbers are certainly lower than what we'd get for a full budgeted version of this. And there's a good argument for waiting.
There's also an argument for pursuing. My film finance people, who represent them, tell me they're extremely resourceful and get a lot of lower budgeted films made. They seem to have made a strong connection with Gregg and would start immediately and be very inclusive.
Since it's a complex equation, I told them we wouldn't have a formal response before the New Year, but they asked for some kind of temperature reading this week. And perhaps we all should discuss.
All best,
Matthew
