Great! Would you be willing to speak with us about Anonymous and Lulzsec? Like I said, we're really trying to gear this towards how hacktivism (if used for the right purposes) can inform members of our society and bring about political change. We're also interested in Project PM, because the goals of it seem to be the intended goals of our documentary. Is this a joint effort between you and Anonymous?Right now we're in pre-production, but we are planning to travel to New York in December in order to start getting on-camera interviews. Is there anyone else of importance who you can refer us to in helping us out on this documentary? We understand that trust does come with time, and we hope to build that up so that we can eventually (anonymously) interview current members of LulzSec, Anonymous, and other major hacktivists. Thanks for the quick response Barrett! On Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 4:29 PM, Barrett Brown <barriticus@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Barrett,
My partner and I are independent filmmakers working on a documentary about the rise of hacktivism. We're focusing it on the positive aspects of the movement and hoping to show viewers that this form of activism is extremely capable of producing positive change within corrupt governments and corporations. As of now, we've only been talking to people who are aware of and have opinions on the movement (none, however, have claimed to actually be engaged in hacktivism).
We've been doing research on LulzSec and came across your name. We aren't at all interested in exposing your identity in our documentary, we're simply interested in talking to you about hacktivism and your opinions/experiences with it. Should you choose to talk with us, we can guarantee that your identity will remain completely anonymous throughout the entire documentary. Again, we aren't here to expose anyone, in fact, we are trying to give viewers some insight on the motivations, goals, and mentality behind the leading hacktivists.
We are very interested in LulzSec's politically motivated hacks, and fully intend to keep the documentary focused on their intents to right the wrongs of our society.
Please let us know if you'd be willing to talk with us, we'd love to hear what your have to say on the subject. Also, if you know of anyone else who would be willing to speak with us, we'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advanced,
Maria DiRosa and Eric Long
