Chris;
I’m very sorry to learn of your
arrest. I’m a lawyer in
I’m somewhat confused by what you
say below and I have a conference call at 3:30 with some lawyers from
If you could get back to me about the
procedural matters in your case within the half hour that would be great. Please
do not share any facts of your case with me. In fact, you are well advised not
to share these with anyone. Though there is a great temptation to talk about
your case because this is all new, scary and you have a lot of questions, the
fact is that emails and phone calls can be intercepted. Wait until you have an
attorney – client relationship with someone prior to disclosing facts.
I’ll get back to you later on today.
Thanks for providing the additional procedural information.
A prosecution may be transferred from the district
where the indictment or information is pending, or from which a warrant on a
complaint has been issued, to the district where the defendant is arrested,
held, or present if:
(1) the defendant states in writing a wish to plead
guilty or nolo contendere and to waive trial in the district where the
indictment, information, or complaint is pending, consents in writing to the
court's disposing of the case in the transferee district, and files the
statement in the transferee district; and
(2) the
(c) Effect of a Not
Guilty Plea.
If the defendant pleads not guilty after the case has
been transferred under Rule
20(a), the clerk must return the papers to the court where the prosecution
began, and that court must restore the proceeding to its docket. The
defendant's statement that the defendant wished to plead guilty or nolo
contendere is not, in any civil or criminal proceeding, admissible against the
defendant.

Hi, Chris-
I'm forwarding this to both the National Lawyer's Guild and another lawyer
who's volunteered to arrange for legal representation as well, so you should be
hearing back from someone soon.

CASE#: CR-11-00471-02-JF
Count 1: 18:1030(b) -Conspiracy to Commit Intentional Damage to a
Protected Computer
Count 3: 18:1030(a)(5)(A), (c)(4)(A)(i)(I), (c)(4)(B),(i) & (2)
-Intentional Damage to a Protected Computer, Aiding and Abetting
Hi my name is Christopher Cooper. I was contacted by the FBI back
in February of 2011 due to my involvement in
the Wiki-leaks/Anonymous DDOS attacks against PayPal, Mastercard, Visa and
Amazon. I was never told that I was being charged nor arrested but I
agreed to hand over one computer as well as another computer of mine for a HDD
scan. I have yet to see my computer returned, although I did receive the other
back after the HDD scan and was told to continue what I was doing so that they
could return and collect more evidence on the Anonymous. I agreed to all of
this and have the paperwork that I would send you if needed. As of yesterday,
July 19th, 2011, I was arrested on the two counts above and processed by the
FBI and then handed over to a US Marshall where I waited for my court
case. I appeared in front of a judge, July 19th, 2011 and plead guilty to the
charges so that a "article 20" (I believe they called it)
could be put into effect so that I could have the case tried here in my home
state and travel to San Jose, CA was not necessary. I also waved my right
to an identity hearing so that I would not be detained that same day, which is
why I am able to write you today. After talking with family and the court
appointed attorney (who did nothing) I have decided to fight the case due to
the lack of evidence that has been presented to me. I feel as though my efforts
to stay out of trouble has now flipped on me and gotten me in more trouble that
I ever wanted. I am to appear in court in San Jose, CA at 1:30PM, September
1st, 2011. I do not have the means of funds necessary to travel to San
Jose, CA at this time. I am currently unemployed, but looking for a job and
already on 3 years probation for the state of Alabama. (I can give more
information on that as well, if needed) Please take your time in considering to
represent my case.
Thank you,
Christopher Wayne Cooper
