That's absolutely perfect, exactly what's needed. I'll come by soon and see if there's anything I can do to help off the bat. Also just did an interview with American Free Press about Romas/COIN and the industry in general for a piece they're putting out, and then have a documentary crew coming in two weeks to interview me about same.

oh indeed. yeah and so far already we've got a lot of stuff done - and the wiki is now a really useful resource. Met some really competent people through doing doing this also. Like I said lets continue to keep building upon it over time. Get another book pumped out and get some money in, we're all still be around. In the meantime I'll be about, and working on a thing with some project-pm and opiran people, to make a kind of private meta-op whereby we help other ops out with technical/intel/recon/analysis skills. and can work on whatever excites us without bullshit you know. will let you know how that goes anyways and you're welcome in. there will be some spill over from what we've achieved already

keep in touch etc and also if you need online infrastructure setting up or new information comes up you know where to go.
still want to blow the lid off these hateful military/industrial motherfuckers.

[22:10]<JohnMcCain> okay, so Morpeth, and phenzen, I'm organizing a little 'test' group to see if we can create something more unified and a little bigger than all of us
[22:11]<phenzen> ok
[22:11]<JohnMcCain> right now, the timing seems to have lined up to propose a sudo-merger of plf, key anonops people, and project-pm
[22:11] <JohnMcCain>to create an intel wing for us to use and be part of
[22:12]<JohnMcCain> this includes shared use of resources, sysadmin capabilities, intel (nmaps, scans, mapping, sever info), etc
[22:12] <JohnMcCain>translation, information dissemination, media resources, etc
[22:13]<JohnMcCain> this is an invite only triel
[22:13]<JohnMcCain> trial period
[22:13]<JohnMcCain> I only ask that you give it a shot
[22:13]<Morpeth> lets do it
[22:13]<JohnMcCain> everyone will be on an equal playing field
[22:13]<phenzen> all up for it :)
[22:14]<JohnMcCain> I'm talking things like a shared db for nmap scans, server info, network topology, recon
[22:14]<JohnMcCain> I would like to filter leaks, db's, email's, etc through this team
[22:14]<JohnMcCain> there will be no filtering of material (besides spam)
[22:15]<JohnMcCain> but it will serve to be a well organized, highly talented pool of people and resources who all share a common goal of changing the way the world goes on around them
[22:15]<JohnMcCain> it will essentially be a 'fightclub' style group, I expect sub cells to form, such as a translation team, etc
[22:16] <JohnMcCain>it will release things out through any of the multiple *leaks sites
[22:16]<Morpeth>what are our targets/objectives
[22:17]<phenzen> ^
[22:17]<JohnMcCain> we're here to be a resource to other ops, not steer an op, etc, but rather be a tool that ops can use to amplifiy their strength
[22:17] <phenzen> k
[22:17]<Morpeth> got it
[22:18]<JohnMcCain> right now there is a lot of overlapping of resources and man power
[22:18]<JohnMcCain> and those who do contribute the most, are over loaded
[22:18]<JohnMcCain> I think this might be a tool to alieviate some of those problems
[22:18]<JohnMcCain> it will also serve to increase intel quality and quantity for ops
[22:19]<nimbus> so
[22:20]<phenzen> so we will be the guys that no one knows about doing the intel work basically :
[22:20]<JohnMcCain> yes, no media attention, no bullshit, free to explore what excites us the most
[22:23]<Morpeth> i like it. kind of a meta-op
[22:23]<JohnMcCain> one thing I want to eventually bring into this as well, is the use of more 'foot assets' to add to our intel wing, discover things that would take us longer to find in just the digital realm
[22:24]<JohnMcCain> for example, Morpeth, the thing your guys are doing over at ppm, going through tons of info, and painting a picture, would be a huge asset to those of us who hack, and may never think we have anything
[22:26]<d3V11> JohnMcCain, you talk about example what I did 2004.. went inside Iran to do some SE
[22:26]<phenzen> grr...ill brb
[22:26]<JohnMcCain> kk
[22:26]<phenzen> but leaving up
[22:28]<d3V11> but yeah.. analyzing info/intel is a great resource.. Currently I have access to Bloombergs system also
[22:28] <Morpeth>analysing big data sets is something we've been doing a lot. if you would like we should get papers involved, and barrett when he is back from his little break
[22:28]<JohnMcCain> of course
[22:29]<Morpeth> papers has logins to a fair few intel and data aggregation sites as it is. so we can take what we've learned in ppm and keep the ball rolling
[22:29]<JohnMcCain> yes

Good to hear. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. For the moment, I'm trying to finish up a book proposal so that I can make some actual money and stop worrying about my finances, which have been fucked due to the fact that I'm not really a "journalist" anymore, apparently. Otherwise still plugging along by pointing to various aspects of the industry to the reporters who keep coming to me. There's going to be some more examination of Romas/COIN and whatnot over time, but not just yet. When the Endgame piece comes out, we'll play it by ear.

Also, I want to thank you for everything you've done on this. Without your work, this wouldn't have gotten nearly as far as it has. And even if the results don't seem tremendous yet, we still have plenty of opportunity to bring serious attention to these issues. I'll talk to you more about that later.

Hows things with you?
Been away for a few days now and wanted to get back into things...so, any news on stuff? Anything you want me to look into or get involved with? Saw we got a pretty good thing into the Pacific Free Press, so the ball is still slowly rolling. I'm back on the IRC now day to day also, and some other shiz, starting to help in opiran (mainly because it's not run out of anonops irc) and etc. yeah hit me up
