I just spoke to Rob Rachwald of Imperva and explained to him that no, I'm not a member of Lulzsec, much less a "spokesman" for the organization, and in fact I don't approve of the bulk of what they've done, which has had a damaging effect on the information freedom movement. The assertion that I'm a member has come from unnamed people associated with th3j35t3r, an FBI informant and ex-military fellow who has admitted to DDOSing Wikileaks, providing info to the FBI ahead of their raids of 40 alleged Anon members, and who personally sees me as a national security threat. They've been circulating several unsourced accounts of my alleged participation in Lulzsec and unfortunately these have been taken as fact by a number of people.

I'm attaching a phone call I just had with Rachwald, who called me after he was informed by a journalist with Dark Reading that I was angry at having been listed as a spokesperson for an organization I don't agree with and without any facts to back it up.

Hi Barrett,

I'm a reporter working on a story about Lulzsec. A security company called Imperva has listed you as a member of this group, but I understand that this is incorrect. Can you help me out and clarify? Are you part of Lulzsec?
