Twin brothers Darin & Greg Bresnitz have traveled the world as
Finger on the Pulse, bringing the music and food cultures of Brooklyn
to points beyond. When they’re not interviewing celebrity chefs and
bands on their popular food-meets-music radio show, Snacky Tunes, or
producing and hosting their annual BBQ Blow Outs, these brothers are
heating up dance floors with their homegrown DJ stylings. Their
connections with the culinary world cover the full spectrum, from the
most buzzed about celebrity chefs to local families making authentic
meals in their ‘hood. They currently live in Brooklyn, New York where
they have long been fighting the good fight for late nights and good
meals. When they’re not hustling to bring the party to the people,
Finger on the Pulse has been known to enjoy good whiskey, cheap
whiskey, and all the whiskies in between.
City Winery
City Winery is the brainchild of Michael Dorf, founder of the iconic
Knitting Factory, who wanted to create a space in Manhattan where he
could combine his shared passions for wine and music. Besides
being Manhattan’s only working winery, the venue has quickly emerged as
one the most popular concert halls in NYC with a full working
restaurant + wine bar and a new tasting room offering numerous wines on
tap-fresh from the cellar barrels. With over 20,000 square feet
in Soho, City Winery is also a constantly sought after private events
space for parties of 10-500. During the summer
months, City Winery opens its doors to the rear courtyard and offers
free weekly concerts at the Hudson Square Music + Wine Festival, held
on its rear loading dock stage and large courtyard. This space is
where the first annual Summer BBQ Blowout will be held on August 6th.
We are back with the 2nd installment of our 4th annual BBQ Blowout
series. On site tix will be $10
and
will include a plate of food and a
complimentary Reyka Vodka cocktail.
New
York
magazine is back with us again, so make sure to get your free issue.
Entry is free, so
come and hang
out and enjoy Reyka specials all night long. As always, Nicky Digital will be snapping
your photos, so make sure to wipe that sauce off your face.
The BBQ takes place at Good Co.
- 10 Hope St, Brooklyn [map]
- 7pm - 10pm
The Talent
If the chef at our next BBQ looks familiar it may be because you’ve
seen him compete as Bobby Flay’s sous chef on “Iron Chef America.” Brian Ray is co-executive chef of
the wildly popular Manhattan restaurant, Buddakan, and helps run one of
the busiest kitchens in the country. We’re very excited to have him
bring Buddakan’s distinct
contemporary Asian spin to our grill on June 15.
On the decks will be Flagrant
Fowl's own Pocketknife. The Brooklyn DJ/producer released
Tambourine Dream on his own imprint to great acclaim taking the music
community by surprise. The indie and folk remix project has reached
cult status now with its inventive studio craft and Pocketknife’s
ability to show restraint within these reworkings.
Joining him will be Picture
House - the 21 year old English dj with a track on exclusive 12"
label Sccucci Manucci alongside Jacques Renault, and a remix for
esteemed Kill Em All label due for release in June.
Advanced Tickets
We are doing things a little different this year. We will be selling
advanced tix and are partnering up with Gilt City to sell VIP packages that
will grant you a guaranteed space, early admission, a silk screened
bag, great cookbooks from Wiley
publishing and other great gifts. The $10 tickets are limited, so
make sure to head to www.giltcity.com/FOTPBBQ
to reserve your space.
