Dear Barrett,

I’m writing on behalf of Esquire Magazine (UK) about Anonymous. I’ve been commissioned to write a feature about the movement - if that’s the right way to describe it? - and I wanted to ask for your help and guidance.

I know you’ve done a lot of this over the years, though it seems you’ve stopped recently on account of the Sony thing?

I’ve read the profile in D magazine and a number of your pieces for the Guardian and the Huffington Post. I’d be interested in speaking to you in whatever capacity you feel comfortable - as someone with a prior connection with Anonymous or however you would like to characterize it. Clearly you know a great deal more than I do, and you have had an extraordinary writing career yourself it seems.

I must say, I love Anonymous, from what I know of it. It makes me cheer out loud. So I’m anxious to portray it correctly, to understand how it has been misrepresented in the past (Sony?) and how it has evolved in its relatively short existence.  I’m also trying to get in touch with Gregg Housh. Ultimately, I’d like to get as close as possible to Anonymous’s activities, to see a ddos attack through from inception to execution.

I hope you receive this message and get a chance to contact me. I’m based in LA but perhaps we can skype or speak on the phone? Thanks so much for your consideration.

Best,
