SPLC Demands that School District Stop Anti-Gay Bullying
Help tell the Anoka-Hennepin School District to stop anti-gay bullying in its schools by signing Change.org's petition in support of our efforts. Just days ago, we demanded that the Minnesota school district take immediate action to stop anti-gay bullying or face a federal lawsuit. The district's so-called "neutrality" policy—more aptly called a "gag" policy—has created a hostile environment for LGBT students. At least four have died by suicide since November 2009.

SPLC Wins Major Victory for Cheated Farmworkers
The SPLC has won a major lawsuit against one of the largest employers of foreign guestworkers. Some 1,500 guestworkers, who were rountinely cheated out of their wages, could recover more than $2 million. The ruling will send a warning that companies will be held accountable for skirting their responsibilities to employees.

Klan Leader, Sued by SPLC, Headed to Prison
Imperial Klans of America leader Ron Edwards has seen his power wane and his organization dwindle since a jury returned a $2.5 million verdict against him and other IKA members in the brutal beating of a teenage boy. Now Edwards is going to prison for four years on federal gun and drug charges.

SPLC Sues Mississippi Detention Center for Inhumane Treatment of Children
The SPLC filed suit to protect children who face inhumane treatment in Mississippi's largest juvenile detention center. The lawsuit reveals that children at the Henley-Young Center in Jackson were locked in isolation for up to 23 hours a day, denied mental health services and medication, and subjected to verbal abuse and threats of physical harm.
