This is Barrett Brown; I'm a journalist and activist who was heavily involved with Anonymous until recently, when I left to work with my own group, Project PM. I spoke to both Barr and Penny by phone on the day of the attacks and afterwards spoke to a couple of other people involved who I won't name but who were unhappy with what was going on not only at HBGary but also Booz Allen Hamilton and other firms.
I just came across a discussion you had with Aaron Barr in which you seem to have expressed opposition to what he was trying to do; I imagine you now know more about the damage that was about to be done via Team Themis. Likewise, I've been studying the industry as a whole and have come to the conclusion that it presents a significant danger to transparency and, in general, the ability of the world's citizens to discern the truth about what their governments are doing in their name. Along with a group I've assembled for the purpose, I'm trying to map out the industry and certain aspects, such as persona management, which we consider to be particularly dangerous
