you mistake my complaint.
i am not offended
but rather see the sleazy language as distracting from your credibility and marketability.

and i am as passionate about the issues you investigate and do not like to see the credibility of the org taken down a notch via childish pottymouth.

we are losing valuable constituents and hurting the brand.

we also create our market.  so when you talk to your audience like they are some  illiterate swashbuckling cursing lame peasants, you really insult them and bring down the vibe.
they dont need you to condescend to them that way.  it does not make the brand seem hip.
it makes it seem backwater sexist trashy and lame.  its not all you.  many press releases are similarly nasty.

its really going to work a lot better with the videos and press released if there is no homophobia and no harsh words against women.

plus sophisticated men dont like to be associated with cavemen.  so you lose them too.  they do exist you know.

for the long term.

for the benefit of your campaigns.

i mean, things can go the way of idiocracy.  so if you want to keep lowering the denominator, go for it.

i know many extremely well educated women who would instantly change the channel, if exposed to such vulgarity.

and if the core message about tech etc can be expressed more effectively without alienating huge demographics, why not go for it????

by taking off the linguistic propaganda of the very words themselves, you'll get closer to the enigmatic mystery of the future.

you dont have to say douchebag anymore than you have to repeat "vegan cheese pizza" over and over again per monologue. non sequitur.

at which point you get really educational, there is no time to call peeps douches, as a lot of people have no idea what anon is, what a ddos is, what is up generally.

and i mean---if you ever corporatize your non-prof  some nasty woman-hating type language can come back to haunt you.

it is not a safe world for men either and this way of setting the tone, can backfire.

i dont make sexually demeaning anatomical references anywhere towards anyone.  that's for guantanmo and abu ghraib.  places that suck.  i dont call people assholes.

you know we are on the same page on a lot of the research

opwant.  publicity, whatever.

nice of you to write and to explain what you mean.
i used to read thesauruses and dictionaries.  so i am a connoisseur of the well spoken witticism, which i do not count excessive douchetalk as witty or compelling.
i would try to say what you really mean.  or something more pinpoint.  like sadist, racist, sexist.  i love to call it out.  i mean what do you mean.  do you mean lame, trolly, republican, pervy.
i just dont get the meaning.
maybe bc i see human dignity.

its like calling people bathwater.  yeah, bacteria.  why dont you call them bacteria or say they have  the cooties.
or snotface or whatever.  i mean juvenile is the point here

and then next, what's up with the org or you want to videoblog a talk.  bc as long as the content can be there, these are some interesting times and everything needs more publicity.
i would love to expose more people to this.  i met some cool anon and programmer activist kids in sweden and
opped FAM>Investor AB>saab>ericsson in my way.  it was neat.

be in touch and no hard feelings, just a little headsup

be in touch if you want to talk or collab

plus i'm really into the law aspect of stuff and legal blogging.  i was in touch with kevin zeese and activist lawyers here in los angeles.  i mean i am all for trying to blow up publicity on support bradley or boz allen and more on hbgary etc.    it is a good place to get the hipsters rallied as they have no media and no soul and their brains are being sucked out by facebook

i wish for the success of projects.  no amount of rationalization can explain what is the gut reaction that words like this, even say like the n-word, or "jew" or "fag"  are uttered due to subconscious powergrabbing strategy, or as an expression of desire to regain control of righteous indignation or insecurity.  and so taking women down a notch when you really mean fbi or gvt or corrupt fascist du jour  is just showing weakness

hope this has helped

I've gotten all of your messages on this and understand you feel strongly about the issue, but you have to understand that "douchebag," in English vernacular, has a particular meaning that's essentially divorced from any literal connection to physiology, just like "asshole," "dickhead," "cock," etc. Yours is the first complaint I've gotten on this and I work with a great number of women who themselves use the term. You have to remember that women differ quite a bit in what they consider to be offensive. If you're offended, I apologize, but I use language with a particular descriptive intent and, like you, also have firm opinions on what is and isn't acceptable.
