Everything that happened to Sony in a technical sense has already been reported on pretty widely; see the various security pubs for instance via a Google News search. As for Sony's meme that the DDOS provided an opening, that's obviously not true in a technical sense. One might as well say that Sony's overreaching against the two hackers made them an attractive target, assuming that this was perpetrated by a criminal group. But until we see reports of any of those credit cards actually being used in the manner in which one would expect them to be had this been done for traditional criminal profit motive, I'm going to continue to suspect that this may very be a false flag/disinfo measure by one of the many intelligence agencies, "law enforcement" bodies, or federal contractors that are known to have engaged in that very thing.

Saw the press release you posted on DKos re: Anon and Sony.

I had a couple of other questions that would be interesting – If you know anyone with the technical expertise to answer (assuming it isn’t you) then that would be great.

I was trying to get a picture of what – in a technical sense – happened to Sony. I wasn’t thinking chapter and verse, as nobody but Sony (and not even them, apparently) has a clear idea. But I did want to see if anyone had an idea of when happened in a broad sense. Basically some possibilities, you know?

Secondly, I was curious about what you thought of the “DDoS created an opening” meme that Sony has been putting forward.

Yes, they've missed the deadline and our retribution against those responsible within the military will go forward at the appropriate time, which will come soon enough. In the meanwhile, we have expanded our probe of defense and intel contractors to include Booz Allen Hamilton execs and other targets. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/13/955971/-Booz-Allen-Hamilton-VP-Caught-Lying

I noticed that someone leaked some BofA emails today. Was curious about the information about the people holding Bradley Manning you mentioned last week. It’s deadline day, after all.

Mr. Brown—

I was checking if you were the same Barrett Brown interviewed by the Tech Herald. The reason is that you spoke with some conviction about the activities of the Anonymous collective. I wanted to get a better idea of how you came to know about them, what they do, and why – assuming of course that you are the correct Barrett Brown.

I’d love to chat on the phone for a bit, to get a better understanding and honestly, to make sure I understood what I was reading correctly.
