Virtual Rally: Tell the Mayor how his budget affects you!
Join us for a virtual rally on May 6th from 1pm-2pm to tell the Mayor how his budget will impact you! Please join us by posting pictures, videos, and comments to the On May 12 Facebook page as well as on Twitter.
Mayor Bloomberg is set to release his budget on May 6th, and we expect to see many cuts to human services, education, jobs, and more. We know that the City could be looking at a number of ways to raise revenue, but instead is choosing to cut jobs, services and programs that are vital to New Yorkers.
All you have to do is RSVP and join us on May 6th, where you can tweet us @OnMay12, use the hashtag #OnMay12, or post to our Facebook about how the Mayor's budget will affect you.
Will you lose your job or your childcare? Will your child lose their favorite teacher, or will your grandmother lose her home delivered meals? Make sure to tell us about it, and you can even tell the Mayor directly by tweeting him @MikeBloomberg during the rally.

THE LIVING LIBERALLY ANNUAL CELEBRATION
Once a year, we host a fundraiser to support this network. A small contribution helps us promote liberal communities and progressive values in South Carolina, Idaho, Texas and every conservative corner of the country.
We may be an all-volunteer network, but we have real costs: technical, legal, promotional -- and every little bit helps us do the most with limited resources.
Can you -- as a proud progressive New Yorker -- help support this national project?
The good news is that we make this donation fun -- by having a dynamic event with food, drinks, honorees and great company. That event is this Saturday. You've joined the crew over the years -- now join the fun this Saturday.

The Big Banks crashed our economy, destroying jobs, foreclosing on millions of homes and wrecking cities and states budgets across the country. After trillions in taxpayer funded bailouts, Wall Street is making billions in profits and giving away record bonuses to CEOs. But our communities are still hurting.
Here in New York City, tens of thousands have lost their homes and their jobs. Now, Billionaire Mayor Mike Bloomberg is proposing devastating budget cuts as the only solution to the economic crisis that Wall Street caused. Enough is Enough.
On Thursday May 12, 2011 well be bringing some of that spirit of Wisconsin to Wall Street when thousands of people, from all walks of life, converge in a unique and inspiring action in the heart of the financial world Wall Street. Join us because it's time to make the Big Banks and Millionaires pay!

May 12, 11am - 1pm
New York City Council will hold an important hearing on the Fair Wages for New Yorkers Act, which would ensure that all companies receiving subsidies from the city pay their workers at least $10/hr. As with the actions to protest budget cuts, the hearing represents an important test of where our city places its priorities: will we reward the working people who make this city run or will we make them suffer the brunt of economic hardship while we give tax giveaways to the wealthy? We hope youll join us at 11am at City Hall to rally in support of the bill.
Outside City Hall Park: Broadway Between Barclay & Park Place.
