Buzz:60 - Bite-sized And Tasty. The Future of Video News?
|
Three New York City broadcast news veterans have entered the online news fray with a service they call "the next wave of video media innovation."
Buzz:60 delivers on-demand 60-second video pieces on timely topics from its Web site and will soon offer access from mobile devices.
Former NBC-NY news correspondents Jay DeDapper and Tim Minton along with former NBC colleague Phil O'Brien founded the company.
DeDapper and Minton are among a growing roster of hosts for the Buzz:60 reports which feature other marquee names such as sports reporter, Len Berman.
Says DeDapper, "We're part of a wholesale change in the way we all consume video media. We're going where the viewers are: online and on mobile devices."
Co-founder Phil O'Brien (a New York Press Club Governor), says "spin" is Buzz:60's value-add: "More than just what's happening, we provide a spin on events that [people] can use
when discussing them at work or with friends."
