Yes I read your twitter link and the post by the person, which came across as slightly gloating but also wanting approval - if the person can be trusted then the aims are good.

It begs the question, why not just clue you into the game from the get go instead of the subterfuge and mistrust? Whoever it is knows you and wants your help so why not just contact you directly and honestly. Your email address is all over the internet and your mobile number - it's not like you're difficult to get hold of. So why all the taunting talk vis a vis:

"Who the fuck did this? Nobody knows. No IRC faggotry, no registered domain that can be attacked, just a Twitter account created with a temporary email account and accessed via an anonymous service. You can Google that shit till your fingers bleed, it means nothing. Torrent seed source means nothing, torrent seed distribution methods were a muddle, torrent content had 800+ seeds when we stopped paying attention."

and "Massive Anonymous bonus points accrued put Barrett Brown to work but he has no idea who we are. Didnt show up in IRC, ignored tinychat bait, no phone numbers, no email, just one dead end Twitter account thatll get deleted within a week at the very most."

Why all this game playing? Seems odd to me.

Good catch, it was actually just coincidence - or perhaps the fact that I mentioned I was now paying attention to Mentions prompted the party to use that to get my attention. At any rate I'm now in communication with those responsible; I'm actually in favor of their aims.

Something is on my mind. On 28 April you tweeted that you'd just noticed the Mentions tab on Twitter - did you just happen to notice it or were you directed to it by someone?

Follow my line of thought. On 30 April Septcelles @ mentioned you regarding the COC dump - the only way that your attention would be assured regarding his tweets is if you were checking your @ mentions - otherwise you wouldn't have seen his tweets unless you were following him.

So is there a chance you were directed somehow to notice your @mentions coincidentally a few days before Septcelles needed to you to notice him?

If you were, there may be a link between whoever pointed out the @mentions tab and the subsequent dump *trap*.
