     Earlier tonight a Twitter user @septscelles announced a datadump from the American Legislative Exchange Council, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Mackinac Center. My copy isn't here yet, but someone else has theirs and I'm hearing about over a thousand documents, mostly PDFs.

   Attached is the torrent control file you'll need to get at the content. If you are on Windows you will want to find something called utorrent - load the program, download the file, then open it. The utorrent program will run for several hours, when it reaches 100% you will have a directory in your downloads with three files in it.

   One of the files is a text press release, the other two are encrypted archives. You will need a program called TrueCrypt to open the archives. The large one has data in it and the password is "Barrett Brown". The smaller encrypted file is also labeled as a press release and the password for this is not known - it will apparently be released later.


    I am very curious to see what the community will do with this content. Let me know if you have any trouble opening the archive - I've been using TrueCrypt for some stuff and it can be a handful if you have never used a disk encryption utility.
