HACKING TEAM is a company totally focused on IT OFFENSIVE SECURITY intelligence solutions for LEAs and Security Agencies.

Remote Control System V6 (RCS) is a premier, integrated, multi-OS platform for remotely attacking, infecting and controlling target computers and mobile phones.

RCS FULLY SUPPORTS XP, Vista, 7, MacOS, iPhone, Symbian and BlackBerry.

It is INVISIBLE to most protection systems available in the market (e.g., systems listed in the GARTNER's Magic Quadrant For Endpoint Protection Platforms)

It is RESISTANT to system restoration technologies (e.g., DeepFreeze)

It is a PROVEN technology: it is being used by Agencies worldwide since 2003.

Target monitoring includes Skype, chat, mail, web, removable media, encrypted communications, PGP, GSM-cell GEO-tracking, GPS GEO-tracking, voice calls, etc.

Target infection can be performed by means of local access techniques and remote attack techniques (zero day exploit portal and transparent injection proxy).

Thanks for that piece, I'll take a look. I'm available to talk about these other issues at your convenience, and in fact I've got a backlog of research that should be rather actionable in terms of new stories. I haven't come across hackingteam before.

Hi Barrett,

In the link you sent to forensic focus earlier, there is mention of another company called hackingteam.it. Do you know anything about them?

Nick

Also, Steve Ragan, another of the journalists with whom I work on these sorts of things, has put out his piece on the issue, focusing largely on the overall dynamic whereby such entities as the FBI end up providing assistance to such things as Mubarak's security forces. http://www.thetechherald.com/article.php/201117/7115/Report-U-K-firm-offered-IT-intrusion-tools-to-Egyptian-government He has yet to uncover anything particularly noteworthy but this info might be of use to you. Meanwhile, my team has been looking into some of the peripheral issues surrounding HBGary over the last day; I have some interesting things to tell you about the fellow who was instrumental in putting out disinfo in support of the Iraq invasion and his connection to Aaron Barr, Xetron, and now Digital Management.

Hi Barrett,

Thanks for that. I think that if your colleague is happy with the translation, then same here. I will call if I need any further assistance. Thanks for everything so far.

This translation was floating around the Arabic but I had it checked out by an Anonymous/Project PM participant who's a native Arabic speaker and she says it's accurate, if a bit ungrammatical here and there. Sorry I missed your call; having trouble calling to Britland at the moment but feel free to call back if you need to discuss anything else. Also, Bloomberg had another translation done yesterday by one of their Arabic speakers; if you get in touch with Ben Elgin, he might be able to help with that.

Hi Barrett,

Can you let me know who did these translations? I presume they are reliable, but need to know a little more about them.

My best,

Nick

Here's an English translation of the proposal from Gamma to Interior Ministry. http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fjustanegyptian.files.wordpress.com%2F2011%2F03%2Fssi.pdf&embedded=true

Ben Elgin at Bloomberg is also looking into this. I happened upon him while searching when I came across this forum thread in which two parties from Middle East ask about the software's capabilities - presumably buyers from intel agencies?

We're compiling info as we get it here: http://wiki.echelon2.org/wiki/Gamma_International

That's fantastic Barrett, many thanks.
I'm starting some leave from tomorrow - and I need to do it, I'm knackered (do you use that expression in Texas) - but the implications opf this could be considerable.
Nick, would you be able to see whether we need to move on this sooner rather than later?
I see they have a lawyer issuing a denial, but “Gamma did not supply to Egypt" is not the same as Gamma products have not been supplied to Egypt. I you need a middle man, you can always find one.
And the details of this product sound fascinating.
Anything else like this most welcome Barrett.
