I'm finishing up the book proposal today for the agent right now. As for film rights, he's already had a lot of offers and he's going to be inclined to go with one with a large deal of money attached to it (while also making sure that we're able to prevent it from being fucked up). Anyway, I don't really have any real say in the decision; my advice is to call him up and give him a sense of how you'd be the best man for the job. I've told him that you'd let us have a great deal of control over the resulting film but obviously this is a huge decision.

Meanwhile, as soon as I finish this proposal, I think today, I'm going to get back to work on the script, for which I've compiled a great deal of notes that I'm very happy with. Would it be possible for us to move forward on a contract or otherwise get me some money so that I can concentrate on this and not have to do whatever it is I do to make money? My girlfriend's supporting me to some extent and none of this media attention has translated into money. Give me a call if you'd like.
