"Cut the Fat, Not the Muscle"

Now that the Glenn Beck hot-air balloon is imploding, maybe we should consider approaching the many Tea Party movement folks in the Kansas legislature, the US congress, and on the streets here .... with glasses of Jim Jones kool-aid and cans of gasoline stenciled with David Koresh's profile painted on the can..

Today Fox News pre-empted Beck's cable television show after earlier on his morning radio show he was heard reminding the police and firefighting listeners that those "leading your unions" were calling them "pigs" forty years ago during "the sixties."

There are hundreds of thousands of Beck radio listeners in Kansas and like most of us have too many Chinese, Russian AK-47 assault rifles.

Maybe a harmless glass of kool-aid before tanking up their SUVs and monster pick-up trucks to drive outtah Kansas would be a GOOD thing, a humanitarian aid thing to offer Beck's followers in Kansas.

Just get the Hell out of here, maybe Saudi Arabia, the fundamentalist religious company you keep will feel better.

Words, words, words ... spoken from the statehouse steps.

Shocking words from Topeka, before more than a thousand listeners ....

"... With each passing day, the destructive nature of the anti-labor, union-busting, pro-Koch brothers right wing agenda throughout this country is becoming very clear.

It is despicable that a tea party Governor and his allies in Wisconsin are attempting to take away the basic rights that generations upon generations of workers have fought and died for.

As the assault on the middle class spreads from Wisconsin to Kansas, we must stand with those who are fighting back.

We must stand for the rights of workers to organize and collectively bargain...

And fight against those who want to ban those rights. ... "

Who would yell fighting words as above  just a few yards from the governor's office window?  (Note: On a Saturday, and at a salary of more than $109k/ year Gov. Brownback wasn't there.)

And who would continue with these historically inflammatory words, yelled across the snow covered statehouse lawn so recently?

" ... I am standing in the exact same spot where 75 years ago, in 1936, on the 75th anniversary of Kansas statehood, Kansas Governor Alf Landon stood to deliver his speech accepting the Republican Party’s nomination for President.

In fact, at my feet is a plaque commemorating that event.
On that day, this is what Governor Landon said:

“The right of labor to organize means to me the right of employees to join any type of union they prefer, whether it covers their plant, their craft or their industry. It means that, in the absence of a union contract, an employee has an equal right to join a union or to refuse to join a union.

“Under all circumstances, so states the Republican platform, employees are to be free from interference from any source, which means, as I read it, entire freedom from coercion or intimidation by the employer, any fellow employee or any other person.”

When Governor Landon spoke of “any other person” he was referring to the current Speaker of the Kansas House. My, my, how sad it is the Republicans of today have forgotten Alf Landon’s words.

We must stand for good jobs that guarantee health insurance and retirement benefits…

And fight against those who have never been committed to these kinds of jobs.

We must stand for improving the quality of our children’s education and treat teachers like the professionals they are…

And fight against those who don’t give a damn about public education and have a disdain for public school teachers.

We must stand for all public employees who work hard to provide their fellow citizens the services they need…"

Who would say such inspiring words?

Is this but a momentary lapse in judgment from the Kansas Democratic Party?

Again, watch the video and then let's look deeper into the Kansas Koch Gulag Archipelago.

No more mincing words, it is time to clean the Kansas Democratic Party house, take a more socialist libertarian stand, like the current chairman of the Kansas Libertarian Party did and not take more than $250 per donor from ANY contributor.  He just was elected to the Topeka city council last Tuesday.

A direct message to you and the members, officers and followers of the Kansas Democratic Party, check this list for who needs to be badgered and cussed.  This is the same list Andrew Gray cited on Radio Free Kansas during his campaign for governor last November. Click here, and look for the Kansas Democrats and think.

Somebody had to write it.
