Chuck was given an envelope in the middle of his class this afternoon but it was not about winning an Oscar. It was something better! He was informed that he had been granted his promotion and will now be a full professor (after the chancellor signs off on it -- just a technicality!)

It was fun that our nephew, David, was in his class and got to see all the attention from the dean and many of the j-school faculty who came along to help celebrate. The dean told me at a dinner a few weeks ago how much it means to the whole department -- it has been 18 years since any one from the j-school has become a full professor.... I'm just happy it's Chuck!

Just wanted to share the news.
