During the interview last week, Michael Isikoff noticed a copy of Cryptonomicon on my kitchen counter and asked about it. Apparently he's going to read it. Interesting.

Cool. Just so happens my lovely lawyer and longtime friend Mirna Hariz lives back down there now (we lived together in NYC for a while) so had been meaning to visit her anyway. So I'll definitely be down soon. Got NBC camera crew coming on Monday though, etc. New Guardian op-ed yesterday explaining our position a bit better that you might want to see.
I'd forgotten that you served a certain role in cyberpunk that I'm trying to fill in this particular manifestation of cyberpunk.

Actually just got my application for SXSW credentials turned down two days ago because Michael Hastings of Rolling Stone is in Peshewar or some shit and I guess my letter of assignment from Sam Apple at Faster Times didn't cut it. How many federal agencies do I need after me before I get to report on Interactive? Do we need to knock over the House of Saud? Shadowrun the Pentagon? Institutions are nonsense.
*Everybody at SXSW is a "journalist." Me included.
I lived in Austin for seven years. Am currently hiding in Dallas, not very well. Will be in Austin soon, maybe even this weekend, and would love to meet. Lived in East Africa and Mexico through portions of my formative years, and in unusual circumstances.
*That figures.
Yes, that will make one cyberpunk. I use Briticisms out of contempt for all of man's works.
I'm not able to have a car, see, as I have warrants
*I don't have a car either
and also can't afford to maintain one as I work mostly pro-bono these days, although I'm doing a film now so should be rich soon. Also have a bunch of lawyers but they're busy with stuff. My GF has a car though and works as art consultant so can probably come down whenever, soon.
*I'm here all month, you could pretty much name a date and time.
