Shortly after midnight, local time, the Egyptian Army started removing peaceful protestants from Tahrir Square with tasers and sticks. Masked men, machine guns and snipers were also reported to make part of the operation. "Army was brutal", quoted some protesters via Twitter. Near 100 people were arrested, according to witnesses. The Army also attacked protesters gathered at the Egyptian Parliament.@Cer Mohamed A. says "When I was beaten by #police, I was furious. Today, when I was beaten by army, I feel very very humiliated".My name is on the article but it was a staff project. I noticed the stuff on the Twitter feeds and started a chat in the WLC newsroom @ 16:15 pst. 75 min later we had our ducks in a row and went live with the story. I was wondering why AJE wasn't on top of this. They had to be seeing the same Tweets we were, anyway they finally put something up on the web after we broke the story. Journalism in the 21st century.
