This intriguing documentary follows two young girls as they navigate the juvenile justice system in Baltimore for three years. Shanae is only twelve years old when a fatal stabbing lands her in the system; Megan is a 16 year old runaway who is also charged with assault. She has grown up in the foster care system due to parents with drug and legal problems. Shanae has family support but her parents appear unable to help her learn self control. The girls seem caught between the innocence of childhood and the harsh realities of their life.
