February 25th thingNY: SPAM 2.0
Experimental music ensemble thingNY (www.thingny.com) and SE resident theater company The Panoply Performance Laboratory (www.panoplylab.org) are currently rehearsing in the Performance Space (www.surrehearsalspace.wordpress.com) for their TIME: A Complete Explanation in Three Parts (www.panoplylab.org/time.php). Watch for an open rehearsal at Surreal Estate, and check out thingNY's current work, SPAM 2.0 at SE sister space LPAC (http://www.lagcc.cuny.edu/lpac/) which compiles compositions, including one written by SE resident Brian McCorkle (http://www.panoplylab.org/brianmccorkle/)

SPAM 2.0 is thingNY's second-annual experimental variety show of commissioned compositions and noncompositions from composers writers, video artists, friends, relatives, strangers, pets and any other mammals with internet access SPAM v. 2.0 is more than the open and sincere exposition of hundreds of diverse images, notes and noises assembled into one theatrically driven performance. It is more than the rickety bridge, dangling above the canyon which separates participant and audience, composer and listener. More. Boldly, we proclaim this is the most prodigious commissioning project in the history of experimental music via email-submitted spam.

FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER HOME

Kimmy is a loving, playful, and beautiful 3-year-old spayed dog who always wants to be the center of attention.  She is intelligent, trainable, and very loyal.  She was rescued from a kill shelter a few months ago by SE resident Wendy with the intention of finding a permanent home soon afterwards, as she does not have the resources to care for her for very long, and her current environment is not suitable forher, either.  If you have room in your life for a doggie, and want to help out both canine and her human caretaker, contact her right away at wendy@wetlands-preserve.org.  Thanks!
