I used to write for AOL when I was first starting out as a copywriter at 18, doing restaurant and event write-ups, but as a freelancer. Likewise, my work for HuffingtonPost has been freelance as well with little interaction with the editors there, so I know little about the internal culture of either and haven't spoken to anyone about it. Mostly I've been busy with Anonymous, Tunisia, and Egypt, so not sure I can provide you with any real insight into this issue.

Barrett,
Since you write there, I would understand if you don't have much interest in comment. Regardless, it is a curious development. Most opinion that I read is just a knee-jerk reaction to change. The left is afraid the site will go corporate, while the right is worried AOL sites will move left.
However, I suspect the real question is will Huffington Post's content begin flowing from the top-down. It seems that Arianna has an interest in keeping it that way, but then corporate executives often have different visions. Will Huffington stay attached to her creation now that she's cashed out?
Best regards,
Sam
