Why Aol Bought The Huffington Post

The constitutionality of The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 has been called into question repeatedly this week. The most notable case occurred on Monday, when Federal Judge Roger Vinson of Florida ruled that the entire health care reform law was unconstitutional. And on Wednesday, the Senate gets a spin at the law, with both a Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on the law’s constitutionality and a vote on the Act’s repeal likely to occur sometime during tomorrow’s session on the floor. But in reality, do any of these actions really matter? Or is the fate of the law rather just in the hands of one black robed, 74-year-old man?

Google Art Project Brings Museums of the World to a Screen Near You

Dubbed a “Street view for museums”, Google unveiled its latest innovation this week with “Art Project” (www.googleartproject.com). The interface, born out of Google’s policy of allocating 20% of employees’ time to innovation, allows users to explore miraculously tourist-free museums and to discover the major masterpieces of 17 international institutions.

Energy Watchdogs Cast Doubt on EU Renewable Goals

At the first EU summit of 2011 in Budapest today, EU leaders aimed to gain consensus on broad plans for huge infrastructure investments and energy market integration, both necessary to attain the goal of 20 percent renewable power by 2020. While some optimistic appraisals of EU’s renewable potential have recently appeared, critics cite lack of specific measures for reducing reliance on fossil fuels, increasing energy efficiency and securing the needed investment for energy infrastructure.
