Celebrate KMFA's 44th Birthday!
On January 29, 1967, KMFA began its on-air broadcast playing a vinyl record of the William Tell Overture. Forty-four years later, KMFA continues to provide a growing collection of even more beautiful classical music to Central Texans.
Right now we're nearing the end of our annual Birthday Membership Drive! Celebrate Austin's rare treasure, Classical 89.5. Your gift to KMFA during our Birthday Membership Drive will help ensure the future health of this station.
We want to continue providing you with your favorite classical music for many years to come! So make your gift now,

Win Tickets to The Beatles...Classically
Austin's favorite Beatles cover band, The Eggmen, and the McCallum Fine Arts Academy Orchestra team up for their popular concert, The Beatles, Classically! at Paramount. This annual event benefits the McCallum Orchestra's scholarship fund for students who will perform in Washington, D.C. this summer. The groups will perform classic Beatles tunes, including, "All You Need Is Love," "Eleanor Rigby," and "Strawberry Fields Forever," with careful attention to maintaining the look and sound of the Beatles. The McCallum Orchestra recreates the orchestral sound that the Beatles often incorporated in the recording studio. Feb. 19th at the Paramount Theatre.
For more information, visit the website.
If you would like to win a pair of tickets to this wonderful event, send an email to
info@kmfa.org with the answer to this question: name the musician who portrays the "John Lennon" of the group? Send your email by Feb. 4th, and we'll draw one lucky winner from all the correct answers. Good luck!

Italian Girl In Algiers. With guests Sandra Piques Eddy (a dazzling mezzo starring as Isabella), bass-baritone Peter Strummer, and Maestro Richard Buckley, the ALO conductor. They discussed the opera, Rossini, and the challenges of singing/conducting. If you missed the show,
