To whom it may concern,

Admissions Committee

I would like to thank you for considering my transfer application.

I did well during my summer class at Richland. It was small, and I was able to have a lot of one-on-one time with the teacher. During the fall semester, I was determined to be successful, though, unfortunately, I fell very ill with peptic ulcers and MRSA. I did not want that to stop me from finishing the semester, so I tried to complete it, overambitious as it was. though with attempting to continue my freelance work in addition to a full load of school with my physical health in recovery, I

I would like to be given a chance. I have a learning disability. I did very well in private school growing up. I was in the top 5% of my class at Ursuline. I left because I wanted to go to Arts Magnet, but was unable to because I'd missed the application deadline for junior year. My junior year I went to public school, and that is when I was barely passing my classes.

I have a learning disability. I have ADHD. It wasnt diagnosed until  my second year of college. Growing up, I did very well in school. I went to private school. I did well because the classes were smaller and I was able to get much more individual attention from teachers. I don't think I will ever be able to do well at a large school.

I have worked very hard the past few years and garnered much professional success so that I could show my competency and dedication for when I returned to school to complete my undergraduate degree. I really want to finish school, not only for myself, but for my father. His last words on his deathbed to my mother were "Make sure the girls finish school." My father knew the importance of education. Two of my half-siblings have Ph.Ds. My sister is pursuing her Ph.D right now at SMU.

I know I don't need a degree to get a job -- I've accomplished more within the media, publication, and film industries at 23 than many do at 30, even with degrees. I want to get a degree because I just simply want a degree. I want to learn.

I want to be able to fulfill my father's last request, his final words. I'd like to make him proud, and I think that receiving such quality of an education that SMU offers will make him very proud.
