I tried several times now to set it up different ways, but this internet relay chat thing does not work here. I use firefox and all that, but there is another layer. This may well have to do with me being on campus - I.e. there is another layer of big brother in between me and the web - not just the Chinese fire wall. One of those two seems to just make it impossible to get anywhere. Much the same with many proxy servers. I would likely have to go off campus into a smokey internet cafe to make it work (I live on campus, too).
BTW: I put some of the stuff I talked about in that email you potentially wanted to cite onto the webpage of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies (IEET); it is at:
