Will talk to you at further length about this on IRC, but off the top of my head I wanted to get you in touch with my old schoolmate Jaime-Alexis Fowler, director of communications of Pathfinder, which of course is in the reproductive rights business. Jaime, I've been meaning to speak to you again about what we've been working on in North Africa and the openings that now exist for Pathfinder to better educate women in Tunisia, Egypt, and Algeria on such things. In the 90s, while working as a family doc, my partner and I bought
a small town newspaper and equipment including a dilapidated web
press, and converted it into an alternative newspaper, much to the

After the financial implosion of the newspaper I enlisted full time
in the trenches of womens reproductive health care, and following
legal harassment, more meaningful death threats and ultimately
burnout, I returned to academia to learn community organizing
around health issues in vulnerable populations. I am lucky to work
with some progressive people (my boss, PNHP advocate and closet

to help on the Science Journalism project, or whatever seems
appropriate.
