It is night time now in Cairo. The protests called by April 6th from their Facebook page [87k likes] and started this morning continue into the night. I have a webcam view of a street in Cairo. I can see two groups facing off but it is so dark that I can't see which side is which but I'm pretty sure the webcam is on the protesters side. I keep it on mainly for the chants [which I can't understand], the lovely voices raised in protest in a way they haven't in 30 years. They are defying a State of Emergency imposed in 1981 for the first time! One chant that may be English sounds like "Stop Thief" or "Stop Police" mixed in with Arabic. There is a link to webcam in my DailyKos blog today, and much more about what is going on in Egypt. Now there are flashes coming from the other side [10:58 am pst] but with no sound associated with. What are they? What is going on? Just cameras I hope.

France24 and Al Jazeera have the best coverage of events in Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Egypt. France24 is the CNN of France and today they asked to use a picture I had posted to Flickr from the protests in Algeria a few days ago. Imagine that, France24 getting news about Algeria from me! Of course I gave them permission but I told them my source would have to remain Anonymous.
I have blogged now for ten days straight about the revolutionary events in North Africa and that blog is starting to be recognized as one of the best information sources on that struggle period. For your reference. Here are the rest of them.
