Thank you for the materials you forwarded regarding Project PM and
related.  This is of great interest and I am studying all of it now.

In the ‘90s, while working as a family doc, my partner and I bought
a small town newspaper and equipment including a dilapidated web
press, and converted it into an alternative newspaper, much to the
ire of the locals.  We printed whatever MSM-censored stuff we could
get from whatever source, and though the operation was sorely
limited by our immaturity and personal and organizational anarchy,
we enjoyed much good comradery, a few death threats and more than a

After the financial implosion of the newspaper I enlisted full time
in the trenches of women’s reproductive health care, and following
legal harassment, more meaningful death threats and ultimately
burnout, I returned to academia to learn community organizing
around health issues in vulnerable populations. I am lucky to work
with some progressive people (my boss, PNHP advocate and closet
radical: http://medicinesocialjustice.blogspot.com/) and would love
to help on the Science Journalism project, or whatever seems
appropriate.
