Hi, Ayla:

Barrett Brown asked me to send you some general information about Project PM.  In a separate message I will share with you some documents stored in Google's cloud, including some excerpts from and links to Barrett's writings in which he describes the need for an entity such as Project PM. The general information document also includes instructions for accessing Project PM's IRC channel, #ProjectPM, which is usually most active on Wednesday evenings, around 7 PM New York time.  Another document is a list of links to YouTube videos by Barrett relating to Project PM and other subjects.  To access these documents you may need to obtain a Google account (get a Gmail address) which is free.

Project PM is a collective of individuals interested in improving how information is shared via the internet, many of whom are also interested in science and journalism.  Here are a few of Project PM's participants or friends who have an internet presence:
Allison Kilkenny, blogger and outspoken entertainer: http://allisonkilkenny.com/, see also http://twitter.com/#!/allisonkilkenny
Sebastian Gillen, blogger about technological innovation: http://www.weareinthefuture.com/
Mano Singham, scientist and educator: http://blog.case.edu/singham/
John Knefel, comedian and writer: he generally puts links to his appearances and shows on twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/johnknefel

As you probably know, you can follow Barrett on twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/BarrettBrownLOL

Barrett and I, like many others, are regular readers of Juan Cole http://www.juancole.com/, Glenn Greenwald http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/index.html, and Matt Taibbi http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/matt-taibbi

I am retired guy from Chicago; I was formerly a lawyer and a bureaucrat. I have been working with Barrett on Project PM since it got started last spring.

The documents I am sharing in another e-mail contain many links; browse around to the extent you are interested. If you have trouble accessing them, let me know.  I am hoping they will be posted to a website for general access very soon.
