Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), one of the fiercest gun-control advocates in Congress, plans to introduce legislation immediately to ban assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips. "Gun laws have to be examined," said Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.). We knew this would happen! Seconds after the shooting occurred, the Left crawled out of their holes to blame conservatives and gun owners for this disaster. Rep. McCarthy is introducing this legislation any minute---send your Faxes and donations right now! Obama has been looking for a way to regulate your guns. First, he appointed an anti-gun zealot to head the ATF. Then, he used that same agency to enact new gun registration laws. Now, Obama and the Left are going to use the tragedy in Arizona as an example of why you and I don't deserve Second Amendment rights. They are taking the actions of a disturbed individual---someone who believes America's laws are "treasonous"---to put the nail in the coffin of your gun freedoms. The Left has been waiting for a crisis like this so they can end your gun rights once and for all. One has to wonder what Obama was thinking the moment he got the call that Rep. Giffords had been shot; was he concerned for her condition and the well-being of her family, or did he wonder if, FINALLY, he had a crisis he could use to take away your Second Amendment Rights? It's distasteful to believe, but based on comments from the Left-wingers right after the shooting, I think I know what the answer is. In fact, an unnamed Democrat political consultant said that President Obama and his operatives needed to hang this event around the necks of the Right. How terribly, terribly sad. Please Fax Congress right now and tell them to preserve your gun freedoms! The Left is turning this into a politically-expedient event, as six people lay dead and a Congresswoman Gaabrielle Giffords fights for her life. The left is deliberately ignoring the facts and creating their own story as they go along, hoping to use this unspeakable event to further their anti-Constitutional, anti-gun agenda. And ironically, Rep. Giffords is a staunch supporter of gun rights. When the Supreme Court struck down D.C.'s gun ban, she said, "I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. This is a common-sense decision that reaffirms the Constitutional right---and Arizona tradition---of owning firearms." It is impossible to put a price tag on freedom, but I need your most generous contribution today, so I can ensure we have the resources to beat back anti-gunners who will stop at nothing to take away our right and ability to defend ourselves and our families.
