me: so, Ted Weisman turned down book as not commercially viable but I have several others interested now
me: four, actually
me: and there are more I can contact
Clark: any indication what it was about the that led him to reach that conclusion?
me: no, he only sent a short message. Basically I'm assuming he doesn't know what he's talking about, which is supported by the history of publishing
Clark: the thesis is sound, the topic not overly written about elsewhere, the book has plenty of color
me: yeah, no shit
me: that's why a publisher commissioned it in first place
me: but some of these agents
me: just don't understand
me: what I have in terms of marketing
me: which is unprecedented
Clark: you have range of voices,so to speak, that you use in your writing, so if someone is put off by the persona you utilize, you can certainly alter that
me: when a bestselling novelist champions a work that should tell the agent something
me: the fact that I'm going to be speaking at this event and that I now write for all these publications at age 29 should be enough for anyone who wants to make money
me: okay, heading home, got to get ready for this hunting party, all the South Africans are in town for convention
me: I'll further introduce you to Nikki soon, she's taking over my affairs
Clark: i am pretty jaded, i thought it was lively reading, so I would sure urge you to persist, but if someone offers a concrete objection to something, consider a rewrite
Clark: sending you an e-mail related to the rally, you can read it later
