As some of you may or may not know, Campbell graciously spent his time putting together a pre-Alpha of the software: http://newswire.singingsites.com/
For those inclined to do so, please take a look at the site and make notes of any questions/suggestions you have.
I'm including a list below of things that I've already emailed to Campbell. My intention is to put together a shared doc with all the bullet points
below, plus any additional ones any of you would like to add.
I've excluded Campbell from this email because I know he is busy at the moment and since I've already sent him 3 separate emails on the subject.
Thanks again and Merry Xmas to all my non-Jews!
- When I click on My
Account (with the intention of seeing the history of my respect points), I
then click on history, which pulls up the graph. Is it possible to have
something below the graph? Namely, when Im at under the View tab there
is a link under User Respect next to my respect points that shows a
chart-like history of my points. Can we also have this under the History
tab?
- When I try to view
the Respect history of other users I gives me an access denied message
- Logic Question: If
I post a link that gets pushed to A then to B then to C, then if I
endorse (subscribe to C) will my own post show up in my Pushed page?
- Finally, when I
click on Pushed, I dont know why but it seems articles are listed
multiple times (both in the main area and on the right). Ive attached a
screen shot. Newsire2
- When I click people
pushed to see people I endorse, all article come up. Im fairly sure I
havent clicked to endorse anyone.
- If I click to push
an article to the people that follow (endorse) me, but the count is will
I receive a prompt? (I recognize this is currently not the case because of
admin)
- When I go to My
Account it shows me a history of respect points for other people (i.e. I
pushed an article submitted by admin and was able to see that Admin gained
5 respect points then lost them after I clicked pull). I assume we dont
want people to see the history of others respect points even if it is due
to their actions. Additionally, a history of the persons own respect
points may become inundating.
- Under Pushed, when
I click on the Comments link Another test submission, it comes up with
the title Submission 2. I know you mentioned this before, but I assume
this is simply a place cardholder for the title of the article? I imagine
you agree that it makes more sense to have the title. (Notably this also
is what shows up on the Title Screen of Firefox)
- It seems Im able
to Endorse myself, which in the first place isnt very logical, but
something that did catch my eye while endorsing then un-endorsing myself
is that my lifetime respect points (listed under Top Contributors) is now
15 even though my current respect points is listed at 0. Notably, Im a
top contributor now using my lifetime respect points. I wonder if this
should be current? Also, from my understanding of your walk-though,
respect points dont decay, so whats the difference between current and
total respect points? If I lost points for whatever reason, shouldnt my
total be 0? Finally, although I cant reproduce it, when I clicked on my
account and then create my profile, it gave me a history of my respect
points.
- On my profile page,
should it show an ability to add a comment? Also, does it make sense to
show the date/time stamp with my name? (Wed, 12/15/2010 - 23:48 SM). I do think having a last updated X
days ago as a useful feature. Also, I noticed when I edited my profile
that it says, Profile [Profile 9] has been updated. Can we change it to
simply Profile has been updated?
- For consistency we
should change the Top Users link at the top of the page to Top
Contributors. However, I was thinking we should say instead Most
Respect which is consistent with the other links Most Voted and Most
Active. Subsequently, we could move the Most Respect link to the left of
the Submit a link link.
- I noticed Emma
dominated in respect points since she invited 3 or 4 people. What are your
thoughts on adjusting this?
