As I mentioned recently, I've been speaking to a couple of media folks about the Sci/Journ project and Sam Apple of The Faster Times will accept those for which authors retain reprint rights or don't manage to get published elsewhere, so that's a good start since I haven't asked any other editors yet. I was wondering if any of you might have any good suggestions to make in terms of other publications that might be interested in running pieces.
Also, Clark, I recall that we had a couple of people who would be good to administrate the project after the initial introductions are made (I'll continue to make the introductions myself as we acquire new participants) and perhaps help me with keeping documentation and arranging for publication (if only by identifying newspapers and pubs and editor contact info). Let me know which ones you recommend as I recall a couple but can't recall the names.

Hey Barrett,
Thanks for thinking of TFT. Yeah, we'd definitely be interested. Our science content is pretty limited right now.

Hi, Sam-
I've got several dozen scientists and journalists ranging from respectable to prominent signed up for Project PM's Science Journalism Program. For the most part we're going to be trying to place the more accurate and relevant articles that the chosen pairs will produce at various mags and newspapers, but was also wondering if you might have an interest in running some of those to which the authors retain reprint writes or which don't get placed in a timely fashion elsewhere; we're asking them to donate ten percent of what they make off articles to our Africa Development Project fund, which will pay for experimental "viral" techniques to ensure that critical health information (and sometimes services) are available to more rural Africans in particular. We've partnered with a researcher at Cambridge on the latter as he's now seeking grant money for a similar program with which we'll be assisting in various capacities.
Let me know if this is something you might have an interest in. Also, if you know any editors who might be interested in looking at what our scientist-journalist pairs produce, please let me know when you have a moment.
