In one instance, at Little Green Footballs, where I'd been accused of being financially supported by the Russian mafia; I actually got the founder, Charles Johnson, a paying gig at True/Slant, praised him in Vanity Fair, etc, but apparently supporting Wikileaks and Anonymous leaves one open to libel. On the other, I outed an Alabama government employee who was harassing me and calling for assassination of Assange from Alabama state computer as an employee of Alabama without giving any identifying details. Some people got upset, I offered to resign, and Erik Kain - who had just a couple of weeks ago asked for assistance in revising the blog format, and whom I'd provided a guideline on doing so that my associate Clark Robinson of PM put together for him - accepted my resignation and then got mad when I asked him to please not let people libel me as a fraud on the blog; some "respectable" commenter had claimed that I remind him of young guys who claim to write for magazines when they actually don't. Meanwhile Erik deleted any comments criticizing him, and another co-blogger who is pro-life and Christian had recently criticized me for posting an old essay about wikileaks and updated commentary on the main page instead of the sidebar even though another blogger had a week before published one of his old essays on something entirely untimely on the main page. Thing is, I've got a lot of projects that I've been neglecting while blogging for free at someone's stupid centrist-right-libertarian blog, including a film treatment and this book proposal for the agent Eisler got me, so it's all for the best. Plus now one of the cool bloggers at The League is basically defending my actions now and thus embarrassing Erik further. And I'm in a state of absolute fucking warfare with Charles Johnson now, and at the very least I have to note that I no longer consider him to be some paragon of blogging; at the most, I may release damaging info about him. Just depends on his next move.
