That's great news that you're getting involved with defending wikileaks. I'm been doing so myself for quite a while now, did some radio interviews in their defense and otherwise written a bunch of articles in support of the org. I'm also doing some similar things as they are within Project PM which has been operating for a little while now even though the official launch isn't till next year. Let's definitely talk, just send me an e-mail whenever you have a little time to spare. I'd like to bring in a couple of other people who work with me on PM if you don't mind; one in particular is actually working with some Anons up north on one of our projects.

I just got off the phone with Ravi Somaiya (new york times) about it, they are going to run with a story about Anonymous supporting Wikileaks.

Hope you don't mind that I quoted you in an update.

Let's try to talk at some point in the near future when you have a moment to do so.

He was one of my real life best friends.  I had actually visited him in california multiple times and he had visited me.

We sent a contingent to his wake.  His family was very glad to know he was working on some good things before the end.

This was a big loss for me.

Thanks for writing this.  It is appreciated.

Sean Carasov killed himself a few days ago. He went by OldDirtyBtard at Encyclopedia Dramatica and was successfully prosecuted with a felony by the Church of Scientology after his operations again the church during Chanology. He was also working with me on Project PM. I just found out an hour ago and wrote him something of a eulogy, and I figured that he being someone who was so dedicated to what you were doing, he would probably have been honored for you to know a bit about him and how he helped. Here's the link.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Internet Freedom Movement Urges Public to Fight International Agreement, ACTA

Worldwide - August 27th, 2010 - The Internet Freedom Movement (IFM) has issued a video bulletin[1] exhorting users of the internet to defend their freedoms by any means necessary. This comes in the wake of recent news that the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is due to be finalized by key world players this September.[2]

ACTA is seen by many as a hostile attempt to subordinate the free flow of information to corporate and government interests. In negotiating this agreement, the governments and power brokers of the world have chosen to ignore the voice of the people, opting instead to expand their authoritarian spheres of influence into the digital frontier.

Civil libertarians have criticized ACTA for its potential to infringe on personal freedoms. The agreement introduces internet censorship and opens the door to warrant-less searches of personal electronic devices.

The IFM is a leaderless organization dedicated to preserving freedom, privacy and justice on the internet.

I'd definitely be interested, will talk to new Rolling Stone editor and some others and see if they'd be interested in a story, and at the very least I can get a HuffPO piece up. I'd also want quotes from you; can you start me out by writing out a couple of paragraphs about why you've chosen to pursue this particular issue?

Just wanted to give you a heads up.  There are multiple groups of people working on various anti-acta movements.  One of them has a website up like everyone else, but is planning to mirror some of what chanology did.

I offered to get their press release out to the press for them and make sure some people watched the video when it goes up.  That should be within the next couple days.

If all goes well and people are really interested and you or anyone else ends up wanting to talk to them I can get you direct contact with the right people.  If it goes quick and you want a first interview sort of thing and can get it up onto huffpo or anywhere else good that would be awesome.
