2:01 PM my old friend, a news producer, left some comments at McCain's blog under the name Marvin Olasky as an obvious joke, and McCain actually had to seek out a colleague of Olasky to confirm that comments saying such things as "In fact, if anyone wants any dirt on the dude, just axe me."
... were not actually from Professor Olasky

2:25 PM me: Nope, I just happened to be talking with him this morning and it occurred to me. He writes for a number of blogs as well, including HuffPo. Also ex-Silicon Valley/Japan startup guy, martial artist, really nice and obviously has a certain advanced perspective on geopolitics
